On a sunny spring Wednesday, 9th September 2026, around 40 gastronomes travelled by train, light rail, and other means to this ‘best kept secret’ venue, the Little Snail in Pyrmont, opposite the Maritime Museum.
From the outside it was inconceivable that this restaurant can hold over 110 patrons, and it was full – on a Wednesday!
The 3-course meal, at a cost of $48 (not BYO), turned out to be an interesting menu, great quality food, nicely presented. It is amazing how they can present such a feast for so many people, and no fuss. And the price had not changed since the previous year!
Should anyone be considering using this venue, be aware that the restaurant extends to the upper level, with no lift, and limited views. When booking, insist on downstairs near the windows.
