SUSAN'S SUCCULENT NURSERY - Mar 26
A small group of twelve car-pooled and went up to the Central Coast to visit two nurseries at Empire Bay.
The first was the Impact Plants Nursery, a beautiful tropical nursery with one of the most beautiful large trees, the Tulip Tree. It has huge vividly orange-red tulip shaped flowers. The nursery was full of lovely healthy plants and has a great selection of plants, pots, and all things gardening. It has been at Empire Bay for a long time but has been refurbished and has a fabulous café, the Chef’s Garden, with delicious coffee. We had a leisurely morning tea there.
Then it was off to “Susan’s Succulent Nursery” just a few hundred metres away. This is an amazing succulent nursery. started 5 years ago by, you guessed it, Susan. It has become a place full of succulents and great ideas.

Blossoms in the Impact Nursery
Susan gave us a very informative talk on succulents and then it was time to explore and buy. They kindly potted up plants for us and we left thrilled with our new mini gardens. By 1pm, tired and hungry, we went just a few metres away to the Tavern and in the cool air conditioning, enjoyed a lovely lunch.
Time then to get in our cars and head back to Sydney. The weather was perfect and everyone thoroughly enjoyed seeing these two very different nurseries.
