RON MUECK EXHIBITION - Feb 2026
A small but enthusiastic group visited the Art Gallery of NSW, Nalla Badu building, via the Botanic Gardens to the Ron Mueck “Encounters” Exhibition on Wednesday, 25th February. After morning tea in the gardens, we gathered with our guide, Christine, and our very helpful headphones and very much enjoyed the ultra-realistic exhibition.
Ron Mueck was born in Melbourne and lives on the Isle of Skye. He honed his skills through years as a puppet-maker, model-maker and special effects master.
He creates captivation figures, scaled from the minute to the monumental, embodying themes such as birth and death, and alienation and togetherness. Our guide led discussions on what we saw and felt about each exhibit which led to some lively conversations.
It was an interesting and thought-provoking outing.
